Pricing & Deposits​

  • ACA no longer requires core wings.

  • $500 refundable deposit to hold your position. Once work begins, price is locked and 50% non-refundable deposit is due within 10 business days.

  • On completion, remaining balance due within 10 business days; storage is $100/week thereafter.

Estimates: Estimates are subject to revision after teardown and inspection.

Gross Weight Increases

Eligible models:
7ECA | 7GCAA | 7KCAB | 7GCBC
(Updated Flight Manual required after installation)

8KCAB (180 hp) requires Service Letter 423.
All other models are not eligible.

AD Status

Current production wings have no active ADs.
The 1996 strut-attach fitting AD has been resolved; all subsequent wings incorporate the updated design.

Approval Basis

Wings qualify as replacement parts.
Logbook entry references factory drawings included with delivery.

Metal Spar Wings — Frequently Asked Questions

Can I purchase just the metal spars and install them myself?

No. The metal spar wing incorporates redesigned ribs, tank supports, drag truss components, and structural attachments. Only a limited number of parts are common with legacy wood-spar wings. For structural integrity and proper fit, wings are supplied as complete assemblies.

Is there a kit option?

Individual components can be purchased, but factory-assembled wings are typically more economical and ensure proper fit, alignment, and quality control. Pricing reflects complete, fully assembled wings built with all-new parts.

Are there any Airworthiness Directives (ADs)?

Current production wings have no active ADs.

A 1996 AD addressed the strut-attach fitting and required replacement with an updated design. All wings produced since incorporate the revised fitting.

As required by FARs, all applicable ADs are complied with prior to delivery.

What is the approval basis and paperwork?

The wings qualify as replacement parts supported by FAA-approved factory drawings. Installation is logged referencing the provided drawing numbers. An installation print is included with delivery.

What about other metal spar wing conversions on the market?

Some STC-based conversions replace wood spars within the original wing structure. Our wings are complete factory-built assemblies designed around metal spars from inception. For a detailed comparison, see the Engineering Aspects of the Upgrade page.

How should installation be logged?

Installation is recorded in the aircraft logbook referencing the applicable factory drawing numbers, similar to:

“7-____ wings and 5-____ struts installed per 7-____ installation drawing.”

The required documentation is included with delivery.

How do I qualify for a gross weight increase?

Eligible models:

7ECA
7GCAA
7KCAB
7GCBC

A revised Flight Manual is provided after installation.

For 8KCAB (180 hp), Service Letter 423 must be followed.

All other models are not eligible.
